Two-year-old child drowns in residential swimming pool in Hawke's Bay

A two-year-old child has drowned in a residential swimming pool at Waipukurau in Hawke's Bay.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene of a reported drowning just before 3pm today.

Police say Victim Support is offering the family assistance.

The death will be referred to the coroner.
