Two people were killed in a crash which has seen State Highway Three closed north of Te Kuiti this afternoon.
Police say they were called to a two car crash near Lees Block Rd at 1.30pm.
Two people were killed in the crash, and two others were transported to Waikato Hospital with moderate injuries.
Diversions are in place at the intersection with State Highway 37 (Waitomo Caves Road) and at the intersection with Oparure Road.
Police are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.
