Police in Hamilton warned Waikato motorists to expect delays this morning after a serious crash involving a truck and a van blocked State Highway 1, leaving two people fighting for life. The road, however, reopened seveal hours later.
The accident occurred around 6.40am at Tamahere, near the intersection with Bollard Road.
Police said two people suffered critical injuries.
St John said they had been taken to Waikato Hospital.
