Two arrested after driver rams cop car during West Auckland police pursuit

Two men are in custody following a police chase this morning in West Auckland, which saw a cop car rammed.

Police attempted to stop a driver on Farquhar Road in Glendene at 8.15am when he fled, prompting a pursuit.

During the pursuit the driver, a 27-year-old man, rammed a police car and continued driving, until he was later stopped by road spikes on Mcleod Road in Te Atatu.

The passenger, a 30-year-old man with a warrant out for his arrest, attempted to flee but was arrested, while the driver threatened police with a knife.

Police used pepper spray on the driver before tasering and arresting him.
