A man is dead after a truck and trailer unit veered off the road and hit him in Hamilton today.
Police say the man was walking his dog when the accident on Osborne Road near Horsham Downs Road happened at around 11.30am.
The truck was carrying heavy metal a Fire and Emergency spokesperson has told 1 NEWS.
Police are also in attendance and have put diversions in place. They've asked motorists to avoid the area.
The Serious Crash Unit and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Team are investigating.
