One person dead after serious crash involving truck and bus in west Auckland

One person has died following a serious crash between a truck and a bus in west Auckland.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Waitakere Road at around 7.15am today, police said.

One person died at the scene, while another received minor to moderate injuries and is being treated by the ambulance service. 

There were no passengers in the bus at the time of the crash.

Part of the road remains closed and diversions are in place.

Motorists have been asked to avoid the area if possible and to expect delays.
