The television signal in Hawke's Bay is back up and running after high winds caused a fuse to blow on Kordia's transmission facility on Mt Erin.

A Unison spokesperson has confirmed the issue has been resolved and transmissions are up and running again.

He said there were severe winds through the area today which ultimately caused the fuse to blow.

“At 5.30pm today, Kordia experienced a temporary outage of all Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) and FM radio services from its Mount Erin transmitter site," the company said in a statement.

"This outage affected residents based in the Hawkes Bay region who use DTT (e.g. Freeview) or FM radio services. Our technicians have since resolved the issue and as of 6.45pm all services have been fully restored. We apologise to all those affected by the outage and would like to thank them for their patience.”
