Traffic diverted after pedestrian hit by vehicle on busy Auckland road at rush hour

Diversions are in place on a busy Auckland road at rush hour after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

The crash occurred at 4.50pm on Manukau Road in Epsom and emergency services are at the scene.

Police say the pedestrian is reported to have sustained serious injuries.

Diversions are in place to allow the Serious Crash Unit to examine the crash scene. 

Police are asking motorists to follow the directions of emergency personnel and signage in the area. 

And a person was seriously injured in a crash on Customs Street East in central Auckland this evening.

St John Ambulance were called to the scene at 5pm and transported one patient in a serious condition to Auckland Hospital.
