Toddler killed after being struck by vehicle in driveway north of Wellington

A young child has been killed after a tragic accident in Carterton, north of Wellington this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene after a report of a toddler being struck by a vehicle at a residential driveway off Lincoln Road shortly after 11am. 

The youngster died after being hit by a vehicle in a residential driveway in Carterton this morning.

“Sadly, the young child has died at the scene,” police said in a statement.

Inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
