The Switzerland-based site is accused of misleading customers by charging over-inflated ticket prices and not declaring booking fees.
The Commerce Commission says Viagogo is the most complained about trader, receiving hundreds of complaints from New Zealanders.
Viagogo has sent legal representatives to the hearing after initially refusing to accept the court filing.
The Commerce Commission is trying to get interim injunction to stop the website offering tickets in New Zealand.
