Ticket reseller Viagogo makes surprise appearance as it's taken to court by Commerce Commission

The Commerce Commission has appeared at the High Court in Auckland today as it tries to put a stop to the ticket reselling website Viagogo.

The Switzerland-based site is accused of misleading customers by charging over-inflated ticket prices and not declaring booking fees.

The Commerce Commission says Viagogo is the most complained about trader, receiving hundreds of complaints from New Zealanders.

Viagogo has sent legal representatives to the hearing after initially refusing to accept the court filing.
