Three people in custody after stabbing attack in Wainuiomata

Police have taken three people into custody after a man was stabbed in Wainuiomata near Lower Hutt.

An ambulance and police were called to Queen Street about 11.45am today, where a man was found with stab wounds.

Police then located a vehicle of interest in Wellington and took three people into custody.

The injured man has been taken to hospital where he is in a serious condition.

A police presence remains in Queen Street while they continue inquiries.
