Three overseas visitors attacked, robbed in Nelson alleyway, one has broken jaw

One of three overseas visitors received a broken nose and fractured jaw when they were attacked by up to six people and robbed in a Nelson alleyway early today.

Nelson Police are appealing for witnesses following the aggravated robbery at about 1.50am.

Detective Sergeant Lex Bruning says three men visiting from overseas reported they were attacked by up to six people in an alleyway leading from Bridge Street to Montgomery carpark.

Personal items were taken, and one of the men sustained a broken nose and fractured jaw, Mr Bruning said.
