Police have arrested three people at the Hyde Street student party in Dunedin, which they say is now a well-run event.
The party in a street of student flats had a reputation for drunken behaviour and burning of couches but in recent years flat occupants, the student organisation OUSA and emergency services have worked together.
The 3600 tickets this year sold out.
Senior Sergeant Ben Butterfield said police were generally pleased with the behaviour at the well-planned event, and people were having a good time.
There were three arrests for disorderly behaviour and for trespass, and there were a number of evictions, mainly for intoxication.
"We would like to thank the majority of people who enjoyed themselves in good spirits, and remind people continuing the celebrations into the evening to ensure they look after their friends, and exercise good judgement," Mr Butterfield said.
