Steven Joyce takes John Oliver's outstanding mocking of dildo saga on the chin

Warning: Toy penises feature prominently in this clip.

John Oliver has made a mockery of one of our politicians, and a now-infamous incident involving a sex toy - and Steven Joyce appears to have seen the funny side.

On his first show back for the year this evening, Oliver was relentless in his coverage of Steven Joyce and the dildo attack, even bringing Sir Peter Jackson in for the gag.

The US comedian took aim at Mr Joyce in an extended segment, featuring a printed flag waved by Jackson, hundreds of dildos thrown at Mr Joyce on repeat, and many good gags.

"This will never be over for you," Oliver tells Mr Joyce.

"Your entire life will be viewed through a dildonic prism."

Ten days ago, just before Waitangi, NZ made headlines around the world when a TPP protester flung the sex toy at the Economic Development Minister.

She threw the pink dildo in his face accusing Mr Joyce and the government of "raping" New Zealand's sovereignty by signing the trade deal.

Mr Joyce initially admitted he was surprised after being hit in the face with the sex toy, but said it's the "privilege of serving".

He later tweeted, "Someone send the gif over to John Oliver so we can get it over with", a reference to the talk show host of Last Week Tonight who regularly jokes about New Zealand politics.

Oliver, more than happily, obliged.

Mr Joyce clearly enjoyed the clip, posting this tweet a short time later.
