Suspicious fire destroys Southland golf club

The blaze on Thursday night is being treated as suspicious.

A treasured Southland golf club was destroyed in a fire late last night that authorities are treating as suspicious.

Fire and Emergency Services was called to the blaze, at the Ohai Golf Club near Invercargill, at around 11.30pm.

The one-storey building was extensively damaged.

Authorities said an investigation is taking place into the cause of the fire.
