South Otago gun club 'very shocked' member is the accused Christchurch mosque gunman

Police arrived last night at the property revealed to be the home of Brenton Tarrant, the man accused of the terrorist attack.

The vice president of a South Otago gun club says he and other members are “very shocked” at news a fellow member is the gunman accused of the Christchurch terror attack.

Brenton Tarrant has been confirmed to 1 NEWS as a member of the Bruce Rifle Gun Club in Milton, about 40 minutes drive from Dunedin.

The club’s vice president, Scott Williams, told 1 NEWS he saw Tarrant use an AR15 and hunting rifles in his time at the range.

He says they "feel betrayed" hearing revelations that Tarrant is accused of committing the Christchurch shootings on March 15.
