Group of masked men rob Hamilton superette armed with rifles

A superette in Hamilton has been robbed by three masked men armed with rifles this morning.

At 9.15am this morning three men, two of whom were carrying firearms, robbed the Ezi Park Superette on Greenwood St, Hamilton.

The Superette was robbed of cash and cigarettes.

No one was injured in the incident, and the thieves fled in a white Subaru Legacy with the registration EFF642.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, or who may have seen a vehicle matching the one photographed.

Man dies after crash involving car and motorbike in South Otago

A 56-year-old man has died following a serious crash between a car and motorbike in the town of Clinton, South Otago.

The crash occurred shortly after 2pm.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the Clinton to Mataura Rd SH93, 3km out of Clinton, which is 40km east of Gore. 

Police are warning motorists to expect delays along the SH93.

The Serious Crash Unit investigate the incident.
