'Small, short but rumbling' - magnitude 4.2 earthquake hits 15km south-west of Christchurch

November 17, 2017

A 4.2 magnitude earthquake has struck 15 kilometres south-west of Christchurch at 2.52pm NZT.

The earthquake hit at a depth of eight kilometres according to Geonet New Zealand. 

It was centered near Rolleston. 

Close to 4000 people have reported feeling it.
