Ship crew member seriously injured after falling from crane at Northport

A person has been seriously injured after falling from a crane at Northport, near Whangārei in Northland.

Fire communications told 1 NEWS they responded to a workplace incident where a ship crew member fell from a crane at Northport, Marsden Point.

Emergency services were called shortly after midday.

One person has been transported to Whangārei Hospital in a serious condition.

Three ambulances were in attendance.
