Strong wind gusts have blown a trailer carrying a large empty water tank over on State Highway 5 near Te Harato.
It’s caused the Napier-Taupō Highway to be blocked.
No wind warnings for the area have been forecast but the road is known for high winds at the summit.
It’s unclear when the road will be cleared by motorists are told to expect delays.
