Seven people have escaped a large house fire without injuries in Auckland this morning.
Around 12 fire crews were called to the scene after the fire at the Bassett Road location, in Remuera, started at 3.30am, a Fire and Emergency spokesperson told 1 NEWS.
The blaze has since been extinguished and firefighters are now working to dampen down hotspots.
Bassett Road is closed while Remuera Rd is reduced to one lane in each direction near the intersection of Bassett Rd.
Motorists are warned to expect delays and urged to consider alternative routes.
The fire is being treated as suspicious.
