Serious crash between car and motorcycle in Bay of Plenty leaves one person in critical condition

A serious crash between a car and a motorcycle in Bay of Plenty has left one person in a critical condition.

Police say State Highway 33 is likely to be closed for some time.

Diversions are in place but motorists are advised to avoid the area and travel via Maniatutu Road or the Tauranga Direct Route.

The Serious Crash Unit will examine the scene.
