Search for teenager swept off rocks near Raglan called off for second day

November 17, 2018

The search remains unsuccessful for a teenager swept off rocks near Raglan yesterday, a police spokesperson says.

Search teams went out at 10am today and focused on the shoreline on each side of Papanui Point.

The search, which is being dictated by the tides, has now ended for the day but will resume again tomorrow morning.

The search includes members of the Police Search and Rescue team, Coastguard Air Patrol and the Raglan Surf Club.

The teen had been with three others when the incident occurred, according to police. His family has been notified and is being supported by police.

Police have extended their thanks to those involved for their assistance.
