Rural fire station burgled while crew attend job

A rural fire station was burgled on Sunday evening while the crew was attending to a fire.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson told 1 NEWS the crew at a Rissington fire station in Hawke's Bay left the station at 7.30pm and when they returned just after 10pm, they discovered it had been burgled.

The spokesperson said radios and a generator were stolen.

A police spokesperson told 1 NEWS they received a report of the burglarly at 10.50pm.
