A Royal New Zealand Air Force plane conducting basic night flying training has undertaken an emergency wheels-up landing at RNZAF Base Ohakea in Manawatu-Whanganui last night after a landing gear fault.
The two RNZAF personnel on board landed the T-6C Texan II safely and evacuated the aircraft with no injuries, an NZDF spokesperson told 1 NEWS.
RNZAF Rescue fire responders, and local emergency services attended the scene.
An investigation will occur into the cause of the incident.
