October 29, 2018

Strong, gusty winds are expected for the city of sails tonight and tomorrow morning.

Hold on to your raincoats - wet and windy weather has been forecast for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's visit to Auckland tomorrow.

Strong, gusty winds with the risk of severe gales are expected for the city of sails tonight and tomorrow morning as the royals unveil the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy on the North Shore.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess may want to keep their gumboots on as they challenge the children from the Trees in Survival group to a gumboot throwing contest.

The weather is expected to clear throughout the afternoon for much of the country, but still with some heavier showers and even some thunderstorms also on the cards.

The royal couple touched down by helicopter this afternoon on a rainy day.

Earlier today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge battled the elements as they enjoyed a barbecue lunch with local school children at Abel Tasman National Park, before a trail walk where they encountered weka and learned about local conservation efforts.
