Police have now lifted a cordon that was in place in Auckland's Greenlane after responding to reports a member of the public was seen with a firearm in the area this afternoon.
Police say they received a report that a member of the public had what appeared to be a firearm in Korau Rd, Greenlane around 1.15pm.
Armed police were seen on Great South Road, close to Karetu Rd, which was blocked off by a police van. Karetu Rd leads to Korau Rd.
A person is now helping police with their enquiries and the scene is under control with all cordons removed.

Police say they have yet to decide whether to lay charges against anyone over the incident.
