Three people are dead after a crash involving three cars and a truck south of Whangarei in Northland.
Emergency services have shut down SH1 south of Whangarei after a truck and three cars collided in a horrific road accident.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 11.15am today on State Highway 1 at Oakleigh, where three cars and a truck crashed.
Police say two females and one male died in the crash.
One male is in a serious condition and a female sustained moderate injuries in the crash. They have been taken to Whangarei Hospital.
