A kayaker was rescued from Huka Falls just north of Taupo this morning.
Police were alerted to the incident just before 12pm today when a female kayaker fell out of her kayak into the turbulent section of the Waikato River.
The Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was then dispatched to rescue her.
In a Facebook post the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter provided footage and said they rescued the kayaker from rocks approximately 60 metres above the falls.
"The kayaker was stuck on a rock about half way down, we then lifted an Alpine rescue person on the long line to her and did a straight forward extraction," the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter said in a press release.
The woman is safe and well after her ordeal.
