Raw video: Fleeing driver leaves power pole unrecognisable after slamming into it at high speed

A Dunedin driver has crashed his car after police were called to a "family harm incident".

A police chase in Dunedin this morning has ended with a car slaming into a power pole.

Senior Sergeant Rebecca Hill told 1 NEWS police had been called out to a "family harm incident" at around 8.15am.

Sergeant Hill said during the call out a vehicle fled from police along Quarry Road shortly before crashing into a power pole.

Police say they're talking to the driver of the car and say his injuries are not serious.

No other vehicle was involved and no one else was injured in the incident.
