Prince William visits Christchurch Hospital to meet with terrorist attack survivors

Prince William is visiting Christchurch Hospital today where he will meet with survivors of the Christchurch terrorist attack.

The Duke of Cambridge was greeted with a cheer when he stepped out of a car about 9.15am today.

A small crowd of onlookers watched at Prince William entered the hospital, after he greeted Canterbury Heath Board chair Dr John Wood and hospital representatives.

Prince William stopped and spoke to the hospital staff, before he went into the hospital.

On a whirlwind visit to New Zealand the Duke of Cambridge yesterday attended an Auckland Anzac service, laying a wreath on behalf of the Queen, then made a visit to Auckland's Starship Children's Hospital.

He then travelled to Christchurch with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and met with first responders of the March 15 terrorist attack where 50 people were killed.

This afternoon Prince William will carry out a wreath laying ceremony at the Dedication Panel, Oi Manawa Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial. This will be followed by a walkabout along the North Bank path on Cambridge Terrace which the public can attend.
