The Duchess of Sussex applauded her husband’s efforts from a safe distance.

Prince Harry drew laughs from the crowd after taking a turn at a virtual reality game while at Courtenay Creative in Wellington tonight.

The centre - a training facility for the screen and creative industries which opens this month - opened its doors for the honoured guests to showcase the capital's thriving arts scene.

The Duke of Sussex appeared to be absorbed in the game as he peered around the room while donning the headpiece.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex could be seen looking on with the crowd, and later applauded him for his efforts.

Earlier in the evening, the royals shook hands with an orc from the Lord of the Rings, before admiring the work of some young creatives as they demonstrated their wealth of talent in props, make-up, music and costume design.

The royals met some interesting characters in Wellington tonight.

In one instance, Prince Harry could be seen touching the face of a young model whose visage was transformed into a chimp from the Planet of the Apes.

The royal couple visited Courtenay Creative this evening.

Meanwhile, Meghan looked on in wonder at the lurid costumes as she cradled her baby bump.
