Prime Minister congratulates Julie Anne Genter, welcomes baby to 'parliamentary play group'

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has congratulated MP Julie Anne Genter today on the birth of her baby boy.

The Green Party MP welcomed the arrival of her baby at 6:03pm at Auckland City Hospital yesterday, her son weighing almost 4.3 kilograms.

"So pleased to hear of the safe arrival of the newest addition to the parliamentry play group," Ms Adern said on Twitter.

"Hope you enjoy those very special first few days."

Ms Ardern gave birth to baby Neve in June.
