Primary teachers, principals start voting on Government's latest pay offer

June 19, 2019
Primary and secondary school teachers are calling for better pay and support for their new collective agreements.

Primary school teachers and principals will begin voting on the Government's latest pay offer today.

The revised offer of $1.4 billion comes after productive negotiations between the Ministry of Education and unions last week.

The offer includes an increase in salary, extra teacher only days and more staff until the agreement expires in 2022.

Union members have a week to vote in the secret online ballot, while secondary teachers begin voting on the offer next week.
