Thousands of fans have sent messages of love to Stan Walker and his family after he postponed his upcoming New Zealand tour to be with his mum while she recovers from breast cancer.
The Kiwi singer shared the news with fans on social media last night, posting a video apologising to those who had bought tickets.
"To New Zealand I'm so sorry about this but I have to cancel the tour for now," said Walker.
Walker's Facebook video has had nearly 300,000 views and thousands of comments and shares from fans sending their love and thoughts to the family.
One fan commented on his Facebook post writing, "My wee girl is eight and I booked tickets for her to watch you for her Bday! Just showed her your video and she just wanted to say 'it's OK Stan' and she is sorry your mum has cancer."
"My thoughts, love and prayers goes out to you and your family but especially your mum," wrote another fan.
The 29-year-old singer planned to tour around New Zealand in November, starting in Invercargill on the 3rd and ending in Auckland on the 19th.
In the video, Walker says he will tour next year and lets fans know they will be refunded for tickets they bought.
"Reason why I'm postponing the tour is I need to be with my mum at the moment, just found out she's got breast cancer," said Walker.
He asks for people to respect his family's privacy during this difficult time.
"If I could ask anything it would be that you pray for my mum and my family," said Walker.
