Police seek help from public after woman sexually assaulted and daughter assaulted in Hamilton home intrusion

A women who was sexually assaulted, and her young daughter physically assaulted, in Hamilton this weekend has prompted police to seek help from the public.

The incident happened on Saturday 7th April around 7.00am in St Andrews. 

An unknown man entered a residential address on Croall Crescent and sexually assaulted the woman and physically assaulted her young daughter.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dean Anderson says the man then left the address, cut across neighbours properties, and ran into the grounds of the Hamilton Junior High School on Heath Street.

The man is described as:
• Māori
• Aged mid-20s
• Stocky shoulders
• No facial hair
• Short hair (No.1 or No.2 cut) coloured black or brown
• Wearing a red t shirt, black long pants and black shoes

Police would like to hear from anyone who information about this man, or may have seen anyone matching this description in the areas around this time.
