Police have recovered the body of a man who vanished yesterday afternoon after diving off a waterfall.
Officers made the grisly discovery around 9 this morning, shortly after resuming the search that was called off last night as darkness set in.
The swimmer had been missing about 15 hours.
Authorities said they are now working to formally identify the body and inform family members of his death,
The Maraetotara Falls, on the Maraetotara River is a popular swimming spot about 15 minutes drive from Havelock North.
