Police have named the toddler who died in a water incident in Ashburton on Sunday.
She was 13-month-old Grace Marie Griffin of Ashburton.
Police earlier said the toddler died after falling into a "body of water".
Emergency services were called to a Moronan Valetta Road address at 5.20pm on Sunday.
Senior Sergeant Matt Emery said the girl was found unresponsive.

She was flown to Christchurch hospital but later died.
An investigation into the circumstances of the death is ongoing.
Police extend their condolences to the family.
