Police officer charged over accessing a computer for dishonest purposes

An Auckland police officer has been charged over allegedly accessing a computer for dishonest purposes.

Police say the 30-year-old man was charged after a police self-initiated investigation process.

The officer from Auckland City District appeared in the Auckland District Court today.

He has been stood down from duty and an employment investigation will follow in due course.
