Police name two people who died after travelling wrong way down Wellington motorway for 10km

Two others were seriously injured in the crash, police said.

Police have named the two people who died after travelling the wrong way for 10 kilometres on a Wellington motorway earlier this week.

They were 76-year-old Lisale Foaese and 41-year-old George Foaese, both of Wellington.

Two others were seriously injured when two cars crashed on the Wellington Urban Motorway around 4.20am on Tuesday morning.

Inquiries into circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
