Police launch investigation after man found with gunshot wound in Rotorua

Police are investigating a shooting in Rotorua after a man was found with a gunshot wound in the early hours of Sunday morning. 

The man was found in Fairy Springs near the Sky Supermarket at around 1am.

Police say they are following a number of lines of inquiry into the shooting and have found a vehicle involved in the incident.

The man is in Waikato Hospital in a stable condition. 

A forensic examination is ongoing.
