Police investigation underway in Hawke's Bay following unexplained death of baby

Police have launched an investigation in the Hawke's Bay this morning following the unexplained death of a baby.

Police told 1 NEWS the death occurred in Napier.

The infant was then admitted to Hawke's Bay Hospital this morning, where they were pronounced dead.

Inquiries are now underway to establish what happened, police said.
