A 57-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon over the death of a man in South Auckland this morning.
Police were called to an address in Manurewa, where they found a 56-year-old man in critical condition at 4.52am, but despite CPR being administered the man died.
Police say the 57-year-old female knew the victim and will appear in the Manukau District Court tomorrow where she will be facing a charge of assault with a weapon, Detective Inspector Tofilau Faa Va’aelua, Counties Manukau CIB, said in a statement.
A post-mortem will take place tomorrow, with police continuing their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death.
