Police are investigating after a body was discovered at a rural location north of Dunedin last night.
A scene examination and formal identification process are underway after the body was found at around 8pm, police said.
It's currently unknown whether the body is linked to a missing person who was reported to police on February 5.
The missing person's property, on Lock Street in St Clair, is currently being examined by police.
Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Lock Street area between Monday, February 4, and Tuesday, February 5, has been advised to call police on (03) 471 4800.
