Police are searching for a man they say was involved in a shooting at Taranaki Base Hospital in New Plymouth at the start of last month.
A warrant to arrest 43-year-old Stanley Joseph Sole has been issued.
A 43-year-old man received gunshot wounds during an incident in the carpark at Taranaki Base Hospital at around 9.30pm on August 1.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brent Matuku says police are carrying out extensive inquiries and are focused on locating those involved in the incident.
"However we want to reassure the public that this shooting involved two parties known to each other and reiterate that we do not believe there is any wider risk to members of the public," he said in a statement this afternoon."
Yesterday morning police, with the assistance of the Taranaki Armed Offenders Squad, executed a search warrant at the Highway 61 Gang Clubrooms in North Taranaki.
Officers recovered a white van they believed was used in the shooting, three rifles, a cut down shotgun and ammunition.
A 47-year-old year New Plymouth woman was arrested in relation to the shooting and the firearms, and appeared in court yesterday.
A 49-year-old New Plymouth man was arrested in relation to the firearms and also appeared in court yesterday.
Following the August 1 incident, police said the injured man had undergone surgery and was recovering from his injuries, which were not life-threatening.
