Police say they have found the red Nissan Skyline which Auckland man Denver Chance was driving before his death.

Detective Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie said the vehicle was found yesterday afternoon hidden at the scene of the same address in Kingseat, South Auckland, where a body was located.

Police said formal identification of the body hasn't taken place yet, and so they were unable to confirm the body is that of Mr Chance, 43.

Police are continuing to investigate Mr Chance's death and are treating it as a homicide, with a chance that more charges will be laid.

A 41-year-old yesterday appeared at Papakura District Court charged with Mr Chance's murder.

Mr Chance's sister Ginny O'Sullivan and mother Paula McGregor spoke after a man was charged with his murder.

He was granted interim name suppression and is due to reappear at the High Court in Auckland later this month.
