Police are continuing to hunt for the offenders who shot dead a 27-year-old man in Whanganui yesterday morning.
The victim is believed to be a Mongrel Mob member, and was fatally shot yesterday in the suburb of Castlecliff on Puriri Street.
Police have confirmed the shooting was not a random attack. Those involved were known to each other and all had gang connections.
Investigators say there is no immediate concern to the public but the community will notice an increased police presence.
Police say they want to reassure the Whanganui community that officers are doing everything they can to find the people responsible for the homicide.
Extra officers have been brought in from Taranaki and the wider Manawatū to assist.
