Police appeal for witnesses to firearms incident in New Plymouth late last month

Police are appealing for witnesses to a firearms incident in Plympton Street in New Plymouth on March 30.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grevious bodily harm.

He is remanded in custody and will reappear in New Plymouth District Court on 24 April.

A 20-year-old man remains in Waikato Hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.

According to a police statement, a vehicle stolen during the incident has been located and is being forensically examined.
