Pizza Hut employee injured by machete during New Plymouth robbery

Police have released camera stills from a violent pizza parlour robbery in New Plymouth one week ago in which an employee was injured by the bandit's machete.

The masked man was recorded running away from the Tukapa Street Pizza Hut in Westown, New Plymouth, with the stolen cash at around 7pm last Friday.

Police said he threatened one employee at the restaurant, and another employee's hand was hurt while trying to stop him.

Police have also released a photo of a light blue Nissan Maxima sedan that the man was seen jumping into before he was dropped off on Clawton Street and ran into an alleyway.

Anyone with information on the heist is asked to call New Plymouth Police at 06 759 550 or leave a tip anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
