A pirate who took part in the death of New Zealand sailing legend Sir Peter Blake has been caught by police, after 16 years at large.

International Business Times reports Jose Irandir Cardoso was a member of 'The Water Rats' who went aboard Sir Peter's boat in 2001 in the Amazon.
He was shot by Ricardo Colares Tavares who was sentenced to murder.
Sir Peter died from a single gun shot. It sent shock waves around New Zealand.
